It was the honor of a lifetime for David Nguyen (President/Owner of U.S. Bedding, Inc.) to receive a call from a White House representative requesting a
bespoke mattress be made for the 2nd floor "Queens Bedroom". Prior to the construction of the West Wing in 1902, it was the usual bedroom and office for presidential private secretaries and known as the "Rose Room". During the Truman administration's renovation of the White House between 1948-1952 this bedroom became a Guest Suite and was renamed the "Queens' Bedroom". During the Eisenhower administration, it is known that Mamie Eisenhower once had her son, and his wife moved to another room because she felt only queens and similar state guests should stay in this room. The likes of Queen Elizabeth II, Queen Sonja, and Queen Sofia have been guests along with Winston Churchill. President and Mrs. Kennedy used the "Queens' Bedroom" while the Primary Suite was being decorated in their first weeks in the house. David and his wife Diana left nothing to chance leaving Fall River, MA at 4:00am to personally drive this special mattress to the White House ensuring safe delivery.
Collaborating closely with the designer to develop a custom-sized, ultrasupportive mattress that would maintain superior comfort was a challenge we were up for. Taking the client's desire for superior quality into consideration, the mattress was hand-crafted with strategically placed layers of cashmere, horsetail, natural Talalay latex, wool, high density foam, and pocket coils encased with a blended cotton and wool cover.

Aaron Stallings, Principal of A.S.R. Design, and one of our favorite interior designers to work with, had a need for a super firm organic mattress for his clients Primary Suite. We filled that need with extra firm GOLS certified Talay Latex with lumbar support from engineered pocket coils and reinforced edges for stability. The mattress was encased with a quilted, GOTS certified organic cotton and wool cover.
